WHS and Domain Controller RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have this question can WHS co-exist on the network with Window Server domain controller? Can workstations that are part of the domain access WHS and take advantage of the WHS futures especially will WHS be able to backup workstations joined to domain? Will WHS be able to backup Domain Controller server  itself? Can WHS itself be joined to domain?

  • Yes, workstations and domain controller can be backed up to WHS and can access WHS shares. However, WHS itself cannot be joined to the domain.

FYI, connecting any server OS (whether a DC or not) to WHS is unsupported.  Having said that, it is possible.
