Synchronisation between 2 different database schema's RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently looking for a synchronisation solution for the following situation: A source database has an article table and a price table.  Each article has one or more prices.  The destination database has only one table.  The destination table contains a subset of the properties from the article table (in the source database) and one property for the price (the first price in the price table of the source database).

Is there a way to setup such a synchronisation scenario?  Are there any samples available?

  • You could do this in a couple of ways:
    1. Write your own sync provider which gives you the flexibility
    2. Use the sync framework providers and let the tables sync as they are and then on the destination create a view that can satisfy your conditions. If you need that only the view data be visible and not the base table data at the destination, you could create roles/permissions appropriately.

also what is the client here? SQL Compact or SQL Server?
