Apache on Windows Home Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I have a trial dvd of windows home server on the way, and was wondering two questions. First is apache comaptible with windows home server? Second, what version if any does windows home server have of IIS. Also is IIS manually installed durring installation or is it an add on?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

WHS comes with IIS 6 as it is used as a fundemental part of the system and unless you know what you are doing, changing any settings could affect WHS.
In general Apache & IIS aren't a good combination and the recommendation is to use PHP and it's integration with IIS.

There is a tutorial here, which has some info regarding this.
