Accessing the webhost folder remotely RRS feed

  • Question

  • I did a search but didn't find anything.

I have my WHS running great, and I am hosting a website on it (it's for development purposes only, not really live) using the IIS setup.  Working at home is no problem, but when I am trying to work remotely, I have an issue.  The folder that IIS uses is not in my shared folders, so I can't modify anything on the site.

I originally tried changing the IIS folder to one of the shares, but that did not seem to work, the webpage would not come up.

I tried putting a short cut to the IIS folder in one of the shares.  That didn't work, the short cut doesn't show up when I am connecting remotely.

I can't do an FTP because my ISP won't allow it.

    So any advice out there?

  • Take a look at WebDAV, and in particular the WebFolders4WHS add-in, if you're using Windows Home Server V1.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
