    Where is Windows API, COM Forum.

    I want to know how to use a API call to find out if a program is installed on a machine or not?

  • There isn't any forum here for Windows Installer APIs. Try the microsoft.public.platformsdk.msi newsgroup.

  • I am using a language thats not well known, KCML.
    But this langauge allows for me to call win32 com objects,

    I would just like to know if there is a win32 function which i can call that accepts a parameter ("program name") that will check if a program is installed on my machine.

    eg win32APICheckInstalled("programName")
    Returns true if installed else false.

    Is this clear enough
