Hello,
I'am having trouble upgrading our LCS 2005 SP1 to OCS 2007 R2.
I had planned for them to coexist while i moved the users over.
What i have done so far:
- Setup a new 64 bit server to host OCS
- Extend the AD schema.
- Deployed the server up to the point of starting the services.
When i try to start the OCS Front-End service it terminates with error 2147749891 (0x80041003)
I found a
thread on the web that explains exactly the problem iam having, but it suggets that i delete few objects from AD. Iam afraid that if i delete those objects my LCS 2005 server will stop to work,
The path to the objects that i would delete is:
CN=RTC Service,CN=Microsoft,CN=Machine,CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System
The Path to the new OCS objets is:
CN=RTC Service,CN=Microsoft,CN=System,
So my new install is in the system container undir RTC Service while the old one is hidnig under the GUID of the default domain policy, there is nothing in that policy that has to do with LCS.
The objects that are under the policy are:
msRTCSIP-TrustedServer = my old LCS server
and
msRTCSIP-Domain = my domain
So my question is, why is it under the default policy, and can i remove it without causing my existing LCS to crash and burn?
Thank you for your time.
