Help needed regarding MCAD to MCPD upgradation

Question
-
Hi
I am holding MCAD certification in web development for 2 years now and i want to upgrade as MCPD in web development.
I have gone through this forum and found exam 70-551 can be taken as single or 70-528, 70-536, 70-547 individually to achieve the same. ie., 70-551== 70-528+70-536+70-547. These all exams referring to .net 2.0
But exams 70-551, 70-528 and 70-547 are expiring on June 30, 2011.
Please guide me whether i should take above mentioned .net 2.0 MCPD exams before expiry or i should go for .net 3.5 MCPD exams directly. .net 3.5 MCPD exams comprises of 70-536, 70-562 and 70-564.
Thanks in Advance
Suresh

Hi,
a colleague is more or less in the same situation and he decided to take the exams from scratch (no upgrade exams). So you could either start doing the Visual Studio 2008 exams or just go and start with Visual Studio 2010 exams (That way there is one exam less and there is no need to directly upgrade again).
I hope this helped a little.
With kind regards,
Konrad

Hi,
I agree with Konrad but would like to add a little extra. Though there maybe value in studying the 2.0 exams and 3.5 MCTS exams particularly 70-536 if you have not covered all the facilities in your work experience, but in terms of certification I would go straight for the 4.0 exams. I have all the MCPD exams for .Net but only show the latest exams. For a while I showed MCPD Enterprise 3.5 as well as 4.0 MCPDs but this is really just equivalent to MCPD Web and Windows combined.
If you have good experienced in 2.0 and 3.5 then it would be one less exam to do 70-551 then 70-567 and finally 70-523 to get to MCPD 4.0 (3 exams) as apposed to 70-513, 70-515, 70-516 and 70-519 (4 exams) and you would get a lot of certifications but it is in my opinion a much harder route.
Good Luck,
Kind Regards,
Ozzy Geoff
