Upgrade to 2011 - Minimum Rollup RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are working on an update for a client from 4-->2011.  They are on rollup 6.  What rollup do we need to get it to in order to preform the upgrade to 2011?

  • Don't need links to the update on Rollups for 2011, I am doing an upgrade from version 4 where the client has not kept there rollups on 4 up to date.  Do I have to fully update version 4 before I can import it into 2011.

  • You do not need any update rollup to upgrade to CRM 2011, you can upgrade directly from any CRM4 version.

  • Hi,

There is no specifc requirement to move exsisting CRM 4.0 deployment to the latest rollup for upgrading to CRM 2011, even some time after installating rollup exsisting CRM 4.0 deployment users may face issues, i would suggest you to not update to any rollup and perform the upgrade first on the test server deployment. Rollup should be only installed if they address teh particular issue that your CRM deployment is facing.

  • On the other hand, once you upgrade to CRM 2011 you can make sure you apply the latest roll-up for CRM 2011 at the same time. When you upgrade it will ask you to download the latest updates which you can do on the spot without any additional effort.
