Run Windows Update from command-line AND get an update the "Last Checked" or "Last Scanned" time RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have been trying to get updates to run within a script based on code from this gallery
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/VB-Script-to-Check-and-620579cd

    The script is working and detects, downloads and installs update absolut fine !

    BUT is not the same as pushing the button called Check for updates.  If you click the button the Last checked time changes, however, using the script or any of the commands below, it looks like the time does not change.

    UsoClient.exe StartScan
    powershell (New-Object -ComObject Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate).DetectNow()
    The buildin SCONFIG command

    Can anyone please tell me what the GUI is doing, that is not performed using the API ?
    -and provide a solution

    By the way, is seems that the WSUS statics also is not being updated
