  • Question

  • I installed One-Care last night (June 16, 09) and the subscription status box says my subscription ends 12-14-09.  What happened to one year?

  • Is this an install to another PC or a new subscription? If you already had a subscription and this is a second PC or a reinstall, the subscription end date is from when you first activated the subscription.

If your subscription to OneCare shows incorrect in OneCare

    • Check your PC date and time. If it is incorrect, change it and restart the computer.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  • I removed OneCare form my hub computer and did a clean install.  I added a new computer and did nothing to the third computer.  they are all showing the same expiration date.  By the way I was never asked to enter the Product Key code which states that "product must be activated by 31 Dec 2010.

  • You won't be asked to enter a product key since you already have a subscription. Your subscription status is tied to the LiveID, so activating involves signing in with the LiveID for your subscription. I assume that the quote of "...must be activated by 31 Dec 2010" is printed on your label or card with the key.

What is your subscription status at the web site https://billing.microsoft.com ? If it is 12/14/09 I would expect that you originally activated the subscription for your LiveID with that key (or another one) on 12/14/08.
