RetrieveMultiple Vs FetchXML - Which is best? RRS feed

Answers

  • Take a look at the Ascentium CRM Service JavaScript library:

    http://www.ascentium.com/blog/crm/Post129.aspx

It has methods that let you use Retrieve or Fetch and provides a much better way to access the returned data.

As far as comparison goes, I've never really seen a difference when using JavaScript.  Both get the job done.

  • Hi lemonje,

if you have a scenario where both do the job for you then you can choose whatever you like.

In the context of .NET normally a RetrieveMultiple is simpler than a FetchXml because of the easier syntax and the easier result processing.

In the context of JScript it is normally the same effort with both methods.

Beware that you have more power with FetchXml because of the extended syntax.
