    Hi,

Must say I like Songsmith and feel it has huge potential in the right hands. But there is one major issue I found when trailing it out: -

Songs are really 1 speed and 1 form. For instance I may start pop and then go reggae for a while or I may want to go techo into big band - or just listen to B. Raphsopy.

Of course you can do different phases and then stitch them together yourself but that is tricky and requires serious software - so what you be useful is a clever 'joining together of different styles' typ

    Just my 2 cents

     I agree.

I realize that MS is trying to keep it simple for the entry-level songwriter, but for people like myself who have a lot of musical experience but little songwriting experience, the ability to change styles or the ablility to change between the A and B substyle (Light/Lively) of any given style would be a great help. Even if we had to make a measure "template" before hitting the record button.

I'd also like a MIDI input for the melody, a full General MIDI sound set (I realize that is availabe as an add-on), and the ability to use MIDI out for the backing track (either a sound card or outboard synthesizer).

I'm not knocking the program, I think it is amazing, just adding a few things I'd like to see built in for the more advanced user (they could even be in an advanced options folder so the beginner doesn't have to bother with them).
