Windows Logon Process error "BSOD" after making admin changes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I updated MSE and scanned the C drive to remove the KB.DLL file that showed as a virus via MSE. I did this via the admin profile after I turned on "Retain All Changes Permanently" did a reboot. Now the system will not restart. I get the following error:

    STOP: C000021a {Fatal System Error}

    The windows logon process terminated unexpectedly with a status of
    0x00000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)

    The system has been shut down.

    Please tell me I don't have to reinstall windows.
