I Bought Live One Care in a store (BOX). When I try to subscribe or finish the installation i sign in ant then it tells me continue online but it redirect me to get.live.com and it keeps redirecting me after i did what you say on the post either if it is on english or spanish (i'm in Puerto Rico, US). Why i can do to solve this or to activate it in other form/way. Or do i waste my money?

If you are being directed to http://get.live.com during activation, that means one of two things:
1. You are trying to activate while connected to the Internet in a country where OneCare is not sold. Of course, we know that should not be the case as you are in PR.
2. You have a mis-match with your IE language settings and your country. For PR your IE language setting needs to be either US English or Spanish (Puerto Rico).
If you continue to have problems with activation and you have confirmed the language settings, please contact support for help with activation -

You're welcome and please keep us updated on the solution as you are not the first to have reported this from Puerto Rico. I'm wondering if your ISP is incorrectly being identified by the IP address check for OneCare activation as coming from another country, one where OneCare is not sold, hence the redirection.
There is a workaround, albeit totally unsupported.
Create a new LiveID. Contact a trusted friend in the US or other country where OneCare is sold and available and provide that person with the LiveID, Password, and a OneCare product key. Have them log in with the LiveID at http://onecare.live.com/activate and use the option to activate with a PIN or token using the product key from inside the retail box. They will not be installing OneCare and cannot use the key again.
Once that has been completed, change the password on the LiveID. (You can only trust people so far...) Then open OneCare on your PC and activate it with the LiveID used to create the subscription. Reinstalls and installs to the 2nd and 3rd PC do not perform the check for IP and language (at this time, at least), so you won't need to repeat the process again.
I will remind you that the above is not an approved workaround and the process may cease working at any time.

I'm just wasting my time with this program, there is no mention on the pack of limitations on country use, what is written on the CD case in white letters in a red box "Online assistance and unlimited telephone", I've not found the telephone number yet.
I run 17 computers for my company, and have been looking at new anti virus solutions for both windows xp and windows vista, with vista being a big No No for reliability, now adding this live onecare problem to the bunch of problems that have occurred with windows vista, I'm starting to look around for other alternatives.
Microsoft I am very very dissapointed with your product and extreme lack of disregard to these problems.

Just for those intelligent folks in Microsoft to understand something,
1) There are four official languages in Switzerland, not just German and French
2) One of these langugaes is Italian.
3) My computers are all running OEM Microsoft Products including Windows and all other programs in English (and all purchased in Switzerland)
4) There are no limitations warnings like language, country, IP written on the box purchased product.
5) There is no telephone assistance number for this program (but the box says otherwise)
6) I have contacted support by email and have not heard back from them within the promised 24 hour period.
Lets face it, there is no excuse and no reason other than someone somewhere published a faulty buggy program.
I wonder if Microsoft will refund me:
a) The purchase price of the product
b) My wasted time at USD 150.00 x hour x 4 hours
c) The cost of my travel expenses to get another anti virus program
I'm very disappointed at the incompetence of Microsoft to supply a correctly working program after 18 months of beta testing, there is absolutely no excuse for it.

I agree with the folly of using the IP address and language check as a criteria to determine if you are allowed to activate a subscription.
I also agree that it should not be so difficult to get support when you have paid for a subscription by having a retail box in hand.
In North America you can obtain a refund for a retail product, but I don't know the specifics for any other region. I would suggest checking the local Microsoft.com pages for contact information to pursue a retail product refund.
I don't know, however, what you actual problem is as your first post simply stated your issues with the lack on information on the language requirements and the difficulty in reaching support.
If your problem is that you cannot activate your subscription and are being redirected to the get.live.com page, for Switzerland, despite that fact that other language may be official, you will need to set the IE language to French or German to proceed. Your OS in English is fine and will not be a problem. Once you have signed in and activated with the retail product key, you can change the IE language back to whatever you desire. Subsequent installations for this subscription will not be encumbered by this restriction.

got same problems with activating.
living in the netherlands, and got a englis version of windows vista.
Also all the languages settings are placed on US .... this because im a developer..
So why do i need to place all back to Dutch for activating some software. !!!!this is nuts
probably for boxed versions they screwed up the activation page.
http://get.live.com/onecare/activate
opens directly a Install Live webpage...
Better said, they srew up more then only activation.
http://support.live.com/
is also is not working... its the link of support from http://get.live.com/onecare/activateFriday, January 4, 2008 8:22 PM -
I know it is stupid, but the IP check only happens during the setup of a subscription and is a misguided attempt (in my opinion) to prevent OneCare from being activated in a country where OneCare is not sold or supported.
You do not have to change anything on your PC *except* the Internet Explorer language setting. Change that to Dutch (Netherlands) as the first language. Activate. Change IE back to whatever you want. If you then install on another PC, you do not have to change IE as it won't check.
Alternatively, go to a PC that is using IE with the Dutch language settings. Go to http://onecare.live.com/activate
Sign in with your LiveID that will be used for your subscription. Enter your retail Product Key from inside the package. Close IE. Go back to your PC and activate OneCare. It should see your newly created subscription and let you activate just fine.
