Expose Resource Availability RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

What is the best approach or is there an addon to expose resource availability to a website?

I would like potential customers to be able to see a calendar showing available resources from the Service Module in CRM 2011 online.

    Thanks in advance

  • I'm not aware of an add-on that does this, but it's worth checkuing the CRM Marketplace.

If implementing this yourself, you'll need to develop a web portal that will retrieve the information, and display it to the potential customers. This could either be built from scratch (normally as an ASP .Net application, as this will simplify communication with the CRM web services), or you could build on the Portal Toolkit (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg695814.aspx )

You will probably also need to implement an authentication mechanism (unless you want anybody to be able to access the data) - if developing from scratch I'd suggest using the ASP .NET membership providers, while the portal tooklit uses Windows Live ID.

You'll also need an External Connector License
