Backup to an internal drive is not supported but there is a workaround in this post - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecarebackupandrestore/thread/22258a6a-3e94-4ac2-a3e7-b21683fb913c

I tried to apply this to my system, but not successful. I am running XP Media Center Edition with SP2, not SP3 as I was told there were many errors with SP3. Had to translate the instructions to my version, but not sure I did hem all correct. Got any hints for this application using Media Center Edition?Thursday, May 14, 2009 5:49 PM

The workaround should work on any supported operating system including MCE so perhaps there was an error in translation.

The solution would be the same on Media Center edition. Basically, it means making your PC a hub, creating a network Share on the internel drive, setting permissions on that Share for all users to be able to have full control of the Share - read/write/delete, etc - and then configuring Centralized Backup in OneCare to use the "network location" which is the path to your Share in the format: \\computer\share\folder
