Can not locate my subscription RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I Purchased a hard copy last summer of live OneCare 1.5.  I loaded it on my Vista machine and within a few months the machine crashed and I decided to switch back a MAC OX.  I am trying again with Vista and I wanted to continue the use of my subscription.  I don't know my windows sign in, the product key says it's in use, and no one on the phone can help me.  I have the product key, disc, and all the infomation needed to validate my account I just don't know where to start, or how to find out which email address I used to get set up initially.

After following the instructions on how to validate another machine, I was unable to get off of what appeared to be a 15 day trail.  I ended up downloading a program that "unsubscribed" or disconnected my computer from my windows account and now I don't even have the 15 days of service.  I have no idea what I have done at this point, why nothing is working, or where to go from here.  Please tell me there is some way I can verify the information that must have been saved when I registered the product key and get me back going again.

    Product Key: [deleted]

    Thanks for your time,

  • Hi, Geoffrey.

Did you call support already? They can tell you the LiveID that belongs to your product key.

I deleted it from your post as this is a public forum. Although the key cannot be technically used by anyone else since it was used to activate your original subscription, it is still not good to post a key to a public location.

If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.

If you are not being helped by support, please let us know the case ID.

At this point, you can reinstall OneCare from http://onecare.live.com (after uninstalling it first) and you should have 15 days until it needs to be activated.
