  • If you purchased OneCare by clicking Subscribe in OneCare and providing credit card information after logging in, you created a subscription, but something has blocked the receipt of the subscription credentials from the server to the local copy.

Is there a link to Subscribe still in OneCare? If you click that and log in with the same LiveID you purchased with, what happens?

Make sure that you have no other security software installed that may be blocking the subscription credentials.

Check the status of your subscription at http://billing.microsoft.com

If you still can't get activated, please contact support.

Reinstall Windows Live OneCare on your computer

If you have an active Windows Live OneCare subscription, you can reinstall OneCare on your computer using your existing subscription. Just follow these easy steps:

    1. On the computer where you want to reinstall Windows Live OneCare, go to the OneCare installation Web site.
    2. Click Add another PC.
    3. Click Install Windows Live OneCare.
    4. Sign in to Windows Live OneCare with the same Windows Live ID you used when you first installed OneCare.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows Live OneCare.

    Notes

    • If reinstalling Windows Live OneCare fails, please download and run the OneCare cleanup tool. After running the cleanup tool, reboot and attempt to reinstall OneCare again.
    • If you reinstall Windows Live OneCare, you don't have to enter your credit card information again. You only need to sign in using your Windows Live ID. Your information is transferred when you reinstall OneCare.
    • If you have already completed installation and activation for your first PC, you can get your Windows Live ID by following these steps:
      1. Open OneCare.
      2. Click Help.
      3. Click About Windows Live OneCare.
      4. The email address displayed after Service ID is your Windows Live ID.
    • If you have any difficulty with finding your Windows Live ID, please contact Windows Live OneCare Customer Support with your Credit Card or Product Key ready.
