Issues with music pausing when played from WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone, bit of an annoying one this.

I have a well specced windows 7 PC and a WHS 2011 machine from PC specialist.

I store all my music on the home server as high quality MP3's and the server is connected over a belkin powerline to my cable router, also a belkin.

This set up has worked absolutely fine using WMP to listen to tracks on my desktop for ages however I recently changed my router to the Belkin N750 (the only change made to my set up) and since then when playing music I experience random stoppages of music for a few seconds and then it starts up again.

Does anyone have an ideas what this could be?

My internet connection is fine and if I play music from Amazons cloud player I don't experience this issue.

  • Since your router is the thing that changed, I would look there.  HomePlug networking is notoriously poor for streaming also. What makes you suspect a WHS issue?

  • I  should also say that I am using wireless to stream the music from the router to the pc but again this worked absolutely fine until I changed the router.
