Problem with opening the live mesh program from mac RRS feed

    Hi
    Recently I downloaded live mesh program on my intel mac but the message I get when I type my username and password in the window that opens is as follows: 'Unable to sign in to Live Mesh as shashidhar.shintri@gmail.com. Please make sure your user name and password are correct'
    I am able to log into my account in the live mesh web page and there is absolutely no problem with that; its only with the software which I downloaded into my mac that is giving the above error message. I tried changing my password once but still did not work. Please help me in this regard. I am very eager to use this new application for syncing.

    Since changing the password on your LiveID didn't have any effect, I wonder if the problem is with the LiveID itself - name.name@domain

    Try creating a new LiveID at http://account.live.com and get an @live address, setting up your existing email as the alternate email address. Then sign up for Live Mesh with that new LiveID and see if you can sign into Live Mesh from the Mac with that address.

    Steve, thanks for getting back. I tried all that you said but has not worked till now. I opened another account (@live.com) and checked all the firewall settings on my laptop. Still I am facing the same problem, ie; i am able to open my account in the internet browser and get to the add devices page, but once I install the software and type in the box that pops up, I get the same message-'Unable to sign in to Live Mesh as shashidhar.shintri@live.com. Please make sure your user name and password are correct'.
    I tried restarting the laptop but was not helpful. Any suggestions ?

    You're welcome. For the new LiveID, did you use the name.name@ convention again? Try name@ with no periods in the ID in front of the @ sign. I'm grasping at straws, by the way.
