CRM 2011 Query Builder Error Message "The specified field does not exist in Microsoft Dynamics CRM" when saving entity. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I get this error when I save entity.

    The detail message like this:

    Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: 'A' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'ig_fieldnamesystemuser'.Detail:
    <OrganizationServiceFault xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/xrm/2011/Contracts">
      <ErrorCode>-2147217149</ErrorCode>
      <ErrorDetails xmlns:d2p1="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System.Collections.Generic" />
      <Message>'A' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'ig_fieldnamesystemuser'.</Message>
      <Timestamp>2013-11-13T03:38:49.9079936Z</Timestamp>
      <InnerFault i:nil="true" />
      <TraceText>

    [Microsoft.Crm.ObjectModel: Microsoft.Crm.ObjectModel.MultiCurrencyPlugin]

    </TraceText>
    </OrganizationServiceFault>

    But I there is no ig_fieldnamesystemuser in A entity.  if I manually add this field to the entity, it pops up same error message, but different non existing field name. I even don't know where all these fields come from.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • I found the issue, which is coming from my custom plugin. it's wired that there is no specific custom plugin error message.

  • Is you environment migrated from 4.0?

    Sometime back these fields must have been created and now they have got deleted. As these fields were of money type, you are getting this issue.

    See here:

    When I faced this issue, I had simply removed the MultiCurrencyPlugin as I was not using any currency fields. Not sure what other impact is there by not using that plugin

  • Hi All,

    This occurs when the field that the plugin is referencing is not in the system. Either through deletion or in my case, the field was not included in the solution when we deployed to another environment.

    Concerning the field above, this might have come from a 3rd party solution that you installed at one point and then removed?

    Regards

    Barry
