Backup Stays at 1% RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, Other computers in my OC Circle do backup just fine over our LAN to a USB ext hard drive, connected to one of them, but one XP pro computer that was backing up before, now goes through the motions, even creating its own backup folder on the ext hard drive and a DO_NOT_DELETE.mediaID file, but then it just hangs up at 1% showing on the meter in the 'Backing up files' window & no catalog folder or ZIP backup files are made. Also, when I try to close the 'Backing up files' window, after letting it churn for a couple of hours, it will not close, & I have to reboot or go to taskmanager/processes and kill the backupwizard.exe process (which is holding about 114,000k of memory). I have reset & reconfigured the backup plan numerous times following your sticky and checked to be sure both computers can see & share with each other. Please advise what to do next.  Thanks, Jim
