windows 2008: exe not responding RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a C++ program that creates several threads.
It has worked fine in XP.
In Windows 2008: If I only launch 1 or 2 threads it works.
However, with 3 or more threads, Windows 2008 says it is not responding and greys-out the app.
I have left it sit, grayed-out, and then my software sometimes returns the results of the threads and displays them.
Windows 2008 still has the app locked.

If I run the dll in debug mode, it works fine.
Somehow, the OS is making the call that the app is not responding.

Again, it works fine in XP and NT.
