How do I get web client to display Excel WWT content? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have the WWT client installed and it renders my excel data as expected. I would like to get the web client to do the same, but can not find a way to get it to reference my excel doc. My ultimate purpose is to access the web client fram a sharepoint 2010 page and have it reference a stored excel doc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • After much playing around, i found that I can create a tour with my Excel-sourced data visulized and that works fine when viewed through the client. However when trying to view the tour through the web client, I can get the globe to come up, but my location info is no longer displayed. I re-open the tour from my windows client and the data is still there and it shows correctly.

Can anyone help me figure out why the data is not showing when the tour is viewed from the web client?

    thanks!

  • WWT Excel Add-in does not work with web client. I found it mentioned on the Layerscape site which is a community portal for wwt.

  • thank you for the response! I was hoping I could get around this by recording the data as part of a tour, but even that didnt work. I sincerly hope that the web app would be modified sometime soon to either reference a staged excel file (i.e. Sharepoint Library), or save the data layer within a tour package.
