Can't install Microsoft Office Professional 2007 from product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried to install my product key into the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student that come with my new notebook, but it kept telling me the product key was invalid. I was told to uninstall the trial version, so I did, now I can't work out how to install the product key, because I no longer have Office on my computer! Help!!!!

  • Hello Amiek,

Many people in this situation are trying to use the product key printed on the Certificate of Authenticity for Windows that is affixed to their computers.  Please understand that the product key printed on the Windows CoA is only supposed to work for the Windows installed on the computer and it is not supposed to work to activate any other Microsoft program, especially to convert a Trial installation of Office into a perpetually licensed installation.

To convert a Trial installation of Office to a perpetually licensed product, you have to buy a prepetual license in the form of a product key and install it into the Office installation.
