Live Mesh Client crashing if remoting in with standard remote desktop app? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I believe I have run into an issue with the standard remote desktop and Live mesh..

I remote into my work machine everyday with little to no issues using the standard remote deskto application tha is supplied with XP

Many times I remote it it seems Live mesh on that computer will crash out after the remote connection is established

Are there issues with using remote desktop and live mesh vs. using the remote SSL style connection in Live mesh.

I know that standard remote desktop seems to be much faster than the SSL style Live Mesh connection - but I would hope this is just an issue with this one machine or install of Live Mesh..

I have to say in general i have been extreamly happy with LM so far - so muh so I have actually stopped carrying thumbdrives ......

    Very nice product.....

Extreamly well done so far and I will say I feel that MS is not getting the credit they deserve for aps like this and Live Writer... it shows a totally new Microsoft....

  • I can tell you that I've not encountered this and I use Remote Desktop as well as the Live Mesh remote capabilities often on the same machines, both XP and Vista. I recommend that you submit a bug with logs per the instructions in the post in the annoucements section above.

  • Thanks for the reply - i think i am going to start by dumping a new copy of XP on this machine - I have a strange dual boot setup on this machine and it might actually be the main part of the problem.

  • "Strange" dual boot sounds interesting. :-) Do report back if that resolve the issue you've been encountering.
