fixit tool not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • when I try to run the "Fix it" tool it says: "Fix it trouble shooting cannot continue because an error occurance. We're sorry but the required Microsoft fix components failed to install. or it say"s

"Failed to get trouble shooter catalog. Error MatsGetSapCatalog failed"

No my "Fix it" is still not working. The problem happens in every tool. It doesn't matter which one I pick. whether I want to check hardware or internet or folder files. I get the same response as I mentioned above. And No I have made no software or hardware changes

Then I would suggest you utilize the SFC /SCANNOW command to scan your Windows Vista installation for issues.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

You may also want to scan for any sort of malware/etc.

    Check for malware:

Download, install, run, update and perform full system scans with the following two applications:

Removing everything they find. Rebooting when needed. (You can uninstall one or both when done.)

Then perform an online scan with the eSet Online Scanner.

    I did:

    SFC/SCANNOW
    Result:
Window Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them

    Then I entered :
    Findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt
    Result:
    Findster: Cannot open Yates
    Findster: Cannot open Family\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

I also scanned for malware but I will again scan with the applications you suggested

I have ran the Malwarebytes and the SuperAntiSpyware

I removed everything it found rebooted and did the online scanwith the eSet Online Scanner.

But, the Fixit tool will still not work
