Can i Create Entity Mapping in my new customization entity? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

i have a new customization entity, it is "new_transfer_line" then i make relationship with "product", become:

    new_transfer_line N ---------- 1 product

i create new mapping in their relationship, where source: quantity on hand and target: quantity on hand. creating mapping is sucessfully.

when i testing create new record in "new_transfer_line", i click product lookup ,but entity quantity_on_hand in "product" not mapping/copy to quantity_on_hand in "new_transfer_line". might i've missed step to creating mapping entity? or my understating of mapping is wrong!!

    note:
    - quantity_on_hand in source and target has same data type, format.

  • Hi,

I changed my answer after I saw that you use the lookup in your custom entity. This doesn't work. Mapping only is working in a context from the parent record. You have to create your custom entity directly from the product.

  • Hi Glo,

When you open a product on the left side there should be a link to a list of your custom entity. There you should be able to create a new record. In this scenario mapping works.
