How do I relate Campaign Responses to Owner of a Contact & Lead? RRS feed

  • Hi, 

    Been fighting with this and with CRM for a few hours finding a solution - and now I hope for your help as I cannot seem to solve it...

    What I am trying to achieve is to notify each owner of a Contact or Lead when a Campaign Responses with a certain status (custom status "Registered to event") is created. 

    Seems a bit tricky to achieve :-(

    However, I am working on two possible solutions:

    a) present a subgrid on Contact/Lead form containing an Activity view of all Campaign Responses - that match a specific criteria - regarding each Contact/Lead. The Activity view is based on a filter on a custom field e.g. EventStatus = Registered to event".

    (however when I add a subgrid based on that view, it comes out empty even though I know there should be data for some Contacts).

    a) create a workflow that e.g. creates a phone call for the owner of the "Customer" (i.e. the Contact or Lead responding) every time a Campaign Response is created with EventStatus = "Registered to event"

    Is there any way to achieve this without creating a custom workflow?

    If no, any chance you could point me towards content that gives me good suggestions on how to solve this?

    As per my understanding,

    You can create a system workflow on campaign response creation.

    Check your condition when event status= Registered to event and campaign response customer contains the data or not 

    If it satisfy then send email to the  campaign response customer as you want to notify the customer.

    The customer could be a lead, account or contact. If it contains the valid email address then email will be send.

    Just set the email to as campaign response customer.

    Thank you for your answer. 

    However, it is rather the OWNER of the Contact, Lead or Account (i.e. the CRM user that should follow up on this Campaign Response) I want to notify. Not the Contact/Lead.

  • If you want notify the campaign response customer owner.

    Then create another new custom user field look up on the campaign response form.

    Fill that filed value when customer look field value will be selected on the campaign response entity.

    It could be either javascript or system workflow.

    Then your second workflow(notification) will trigger on the field change of custom user look up value change. Then you can set email to as the custom field user value.

    The solution I am looking for will be part of a packaged solution that we market to a lot of customers. I don't fully feel that your suggestion is appropriate for our solution.

    One reason is that this solution must be fully automatic. 

    All relevant campaign responses (EventStatus=Registered) are created automatically by our marketing platform, and the owner of the campaign response is therefore a specific integration user. 

    So, on Create of the campaign response, I want to run a workflow that checks who the customer's owner is - and creates an activity to notify this owner. 

    Can anyone direct me towards a simpler way (even if it requires e.g. a custom workflow) to achieve this?

    And, if not, what about presenting this in a subcrid on Contact/Lead forms?
