Well, the good news, actually, is that it did change since the first one of those updates back with 1.0. The first one applied the updated and then rebooted the PC within a few minutes - with only a short warning. Now it is a several hour warning, but the network is locked down tight until you reboot as OneCare has shut down for the update. In my opinion, it should download the update and *then* tell you that it has an update, change your status to yellow and wait for you to apply it. If you ignore the warning, go to red. *Never* update by shutting down the services and then announce that you need to reboot to complete the update - no matter how long the countdown.
