Windows 7 on Toshiba laptop from reputable company shows non-genuine message build 7601 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried to follow some guidance listed from the forums. My computer seems to run very slow now. Here is the diagnostic log after following some advice from the forums.... I purchased the laptop new from a local well respected company with Windows 7 preinstalled, and it appears to have a legitimate windows sticker on the bottom. Any guidance is appreciated, thank you in advance

  • Your Windows is licensed.  The slow performance sounds like something is interfering with the Windows Activation Technology doing its periodic checks.  I think you need to address the performance issue first.  Ask for help with the performance in the Windows 7 Performance and Maintenence forum at

  • You didn't mention if you are still seeing the non-genuine message and what happened on the validation site.  The file mismatches had to do with the WAT update and shouldn't have caused the issue.  The non-genuine issue is not what is causing poor performance but the poor performance can cause the non-genuine issue (probably intermittently).
