I apologize in advance for the length of this post.
Current situation: Enterprise is running Microsoft 2003 products (office, Communicator, SharePoint, Project, etc.). Chances of convincing the enterprise to upgrade its tens of thousands of PCs in the immediate future are negligable. A small group of Project
Managers in a subsidiary company would like to use the functionality available in Project Professional 2010 and Project Server 2010.
Questions: 1) Does Project Server 2010 utilize its own version of SharePoint 2010 that can be used concurrently with the enterprise version of SharePoint 2003? 2) If the project managers who use Project Professional 2010 and Project Server 2010 save files
in Project 2003 format, will users (who can not update project plans) be able to view them using Project 2003? 3) Will the Project Managers running Project Server 2010 still be able to access enterprise content stored in the SharePoint 2003 repository? 4)
Can Project Professional 2010 be used in a stand-alone configuration with SharePoint 2003? 5) Is this just an impossible dream, or is there really a way to have the Project Managers running a Project Server/Professional 2010 environment in an enterprise that
is exclusively Microsoft 2003 product compaitble?
Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.
