  • Question

  • We have an installation of a whs evaluation copy, which has been activated. We now did buy a license. How can we use the new license without reinstalling the complete software?

There is no way to update the evalation edition to a full edition without performing a reinstallation. When you do the reinstallation just select SERVER REINSTALLATION to keep your data.

  • When doing a server reinstall, is it possible to change the size of the drives?  I setup my 1TB drive as 20 Gb and 980GB and I want to adjust that.

  • No. When you install Windows Home Server, it fixes the sizes of the partitions on the system drive at 20 GB (C: ) and (drive - 20 GB) (D: ), and there is no supported way to change this. A server reinstallation doesn't change the size of the partitions.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
