Cannot Operate 2007 Trial Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Cannot remove, cannot use trial outlook 2007.  Just want my previous 2003 version.  No product key was shared; therefore I have tried for hours to find solution.  Only receive error 1402.  Set-up always fails.  HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office.  Please help me unravel this problem.

  • How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature:

The Setup program does not start, and the contents of the CD are displayed when you insert a Microsoft Office program CD: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905690/en-us

  • Thank you for your assistance.  #4 was the only item I could act upon; however, I made a horrible mistake on 4b.  I unintentionally deleted this and I cannot confirm that I saved it first.  (It was HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.)  Will this affect the operation of my operating system?

  • Hello Sparkerw,

Unfortunately when dealing with the registry it can cause unwanted issues to arise.  I can not confirm or deny if this will affect the operation of your system which is why we recommend to all users who attempt to make any modifications to the registry to perform a full system backup.  I would suggest at this time to make a backup of any important documents you may have to prevent any data loss should a situation arise.  After performing the steps indicated were you able to sucessfully remove the trial version of office?  If not (after you have already made your backup) I would suggest running the Windows installer cleanup utility which will allow you to remove programs you may not be able to with the Add or Remove Programs feature of Windows, you can find details instructions from the following KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.  Please let me know if you are still having issues after running this program.

    Thank You,
