plugin timout error in mscrm 2011 online RRS feed

  • Dear all;

    i am fetching huge number of records through plugin and updating them the plugin is getting timeout error and i think because it has the limit of  2 minutes to execute.can any buddy suggest me how we can do it to make it work .custom work flow activity is also have 2 minutes limit issue.

  • Your best option is to use a custom workflow activity in this case.  The 2 minute time limit is not imposed on a custom workflow activity like it is on a plugin.

    i tried it through custom work flow activity in mscrm 2011 but unfortunately even in custom work flow activity it has the 2 minutes limit remember i am talking about mscrm online

  • I don't think you can exceed the 2 minute timeout. However, the reason it is there is to prevent plugins from generating too much activity, so the limit is doing its job, from the MS perspective.

    If possible, try redesigning your logic so that you don't update so many records within one plugin
