Clarifications on 70-480 sub-objectives on "Implement and Manipulate Document Structures and Objects" RRS feed

  • Question

  • The exam objectives for 70-480 have a few confusing bullet points:

Create the document structure. > create a layout container in HTML

What is a "layout container" in this context? Does it just mean using block elements with appropriate display properties? Or does it specifically aim at something like Flexbox layouts (which would be confusing as Flexbox is also a sub-objective in "Use CSS3 in Applications")?

Create and implement objects and methods > implement native methods and create custom methods

What is meant by native methods? Especially "implementing" is confusing things. Is this talking about implementing Array methods in browsers that don't support the newest version of the spec? Is it about acessing the WinJS API?

Creating custom methods: is that about creating properties containing functions on objects (which are typically referred to as "methods"), but then why are they called "custom"?

It would be great if anyone could shed some light on this.

  • Create the document structure. > create a layout container in HTML:

Yes it mean everything from block elements with display properties to Flex-box layout.

Create and implement objects and methods > implement native methods and create custom methods:

It includes inheritance, prototyping, method overriding and all such topics.
