Adding Users in OCS 2007 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are running XP desktops and Win 2003 R2 servers.  I can not find any way to add users on the OCS R2 system.  I have ran the Admin tools but there is still not a Communications Tab in AD to add users.

  • Hi,

you actually need to install OCS Admin Tools on a domain controller to be able to see the communications tab in ADUC.

Another way, is to run ADUC from the OCS front end server, or run ADUC from any server or client (using AdminPack.msi) after having installed OCS Setup tools as well.

  • To clarify, the Administrative Tools must be separately installed using OCS 2007 R2 setupse.exe or setupee.exe. In addition, the Remote Server Administration Tools (Windows Server 2008/Vista SP1/Windows 7) or adminpak.msi (Windows Server 2003/XP) must already exist on your administrative workstation or member server.
