Still Do Not Have the Latest Version of Live OneCare RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a registered user of Live OneCare. Sometime ago I read that Live OneCare 2.0 was released and that all registered users would be updated automatically. However, mine has not been updated on either computer. It is still Version 1.6.2111.38. Any idea when we will be updated?

    Thanks,
    Michael

  • Hello, Michael. The upgrades to 2.0 were suspended after a larger than expected number of problems were reported after the upgrade. The developers have been working hard to address these issues and expect that upgrades will resume shortly.

  • I did find a post relating to why there has been no automatic updating to version 2.  But, it took me 20 minutes of digging around on the forum to find.  Perhaps the "General" section might be used to post general status messages of this type?

    Thanks,

Not a bad idea, but I'd rather not post an announcement about updates as status and dates could change. I'm kind of sorry that Microsoft sent out that email announcing the upgrade as it got many people looking for it. Of course, then too many problems occurred and the upgrades were suspended while they investigated and patched the code. Had the problems not occurred, I think that upgrades would have completed by now.

I will post an announcement once I know that upgrades are once again underway.
