Media Sharing? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Will WHS Update automatically installing future versions of Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Connect is no longer available as a standalone version.  It had been incorporated in the lastest versions of Windows Media Player.  XP version of WMP uses WMC 3.0 whereas Vista version uses WMC 4.0.  So it seems likely that there will be further enhancements to WMP/media streaming.  Do you (like I do) think its important that WHS be kept current with the latest streaming capabilities?

  • hmmm. Personally I have never used media connect. I have always just mapped a network drive and added it to my media player as if it was local. WHS allows you to stream media already! Open up the WHS console click on settings Have you opened up the WHS console, clicked on settings and ticked to share media?
