Win 7 Enterprise - Not Genuine, but all 7 other PCs are genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently rolled out an image of Win 7 to a group of 8 users. One user gets the "Not Genuine" prompt daily, but his installation is no different from the others. Can someone decode this for me?

  • Try running the system file checker to see if any files are damaged and if so fix them.

Click Start, type 'cmd' in the Search/Run box, and right click on the CMD icon at the top of the results pane.  Select Run as Administrator.  When the cmd window opens type 'sfc /scannow' at the prompt and hit Enter.  When the scan completes close the cmd window.

  • This is over a year old - and you just came back to mark an answer?

As it happens, we have now identified the possible cause and probable cure for this problem...

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloading and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2101&DwnldID=20624

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.
