When Microsoft Translator expects to have a romanized version of Japanese ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I will like to use MicrosoftTranslator every day, but Microsoft translator leaks of romanized speech of Japanese (Kanjis, Katakana, hiragana). Microsoft Word has a button to do something near this. Call of Phonetic Guide as known as in Japan as furigana.

    for example the word:

    地震計, how i can read this?

    the answer is: 'dzishinkei'

    Maybe a check box in Text box of Microsoft translator, and one option in translator API

     Uri uri = new Uri(bingApi + "InRoman?appId=" + appId +
                    "&text=" + text + "&language=" + language);

    thanks for any explanation

  • Hello Antonio,

    thanks for the suggestion. Microsoft Translator shows you how to read a Japanese string using the Speak() method in the API, and the speak function on the Bing Translator home page (www.bing.com/translator). Translate something, and then hit the speaker icon in the result window.
