Hello Vante2010,
Computers, which are built by large manufactures come with an OEM version of Vista Pre-Installed, the problem is that OEM Vista is only licensed to run on the first computer it is installed on. Your Vista Home Basic originally came preinstalled on a different computer. I know this because "Windows License Type:" "OEM SLP" is only used in OEM Vistas that came preinstall on a computer. It will not work on your Friends computer. The reason it worked for about a month or so is because Vista has a Grace Period to allow the user to enter a valid Product Key. Once the Grace is over and a Valid key is not entered, it will switch to a Non-Genuine state.
At this point, you have a couple options,
1) If your friends's Home Premium came pre-installed on that computer, then it is still licensied to run on that computer. So you could reinstall it.
2) You can buy a retail copy of Vista.
a) If you buy a retail copy of Home Basic, then you should be able to take the key from the retail box and enter it into your current Vista without having to reinstall.
b) If you buy a different version of Vista then you would need to save all your importent files (off the computer) and install the new version of Vista.
Sorry I couldn't provide better news,
Darin MS
