Missing Symbols on Microsoft Symbol Servers(vbcript.pdb) v 5.0.8.9600.19081

    Question

  • I am working on debugging one of our applications and have a missing symbol file(.pdb) on the Microsoft Symbol Server.  The missing symbol file is : vbscript.dll v. 5.08.9600.19081       symchk returns the following information for the symbol        SYMSRV:https://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols/vbscript.pdb/E29DECA1360243E3A2D721FC401E9C622/vbscript.pdb not found.  Is there any other place I can look for this symbol?   I have a full dump file but without this symbol it makes it difficult to debug the application.      Regards, TLH

  • Hi,

Was it working earlier and started failing recently?

Can you check Symbol Server path provided is correct? See this link to cross check.

  • I've seen another post in another forum that stated it was missing in August.  The symbol server is correct as it pulled other pdb's from the same location.  The link does not work.  I'm using the default Microsoft Symbol Servers from Visual Studio so it should be the standard location.
