Micorsoft Office 2007 trouble...please help!!!

Question
-
My brand new Windows 2007 works great for my new laptop, but when I enter the product key to covert Microsoft Office 2007 to the full product it says it worked fine and is now full product and everything. But when i open it back up again it still says trial, and it really wont let me do anything on Word or any of the Office programs. The thing is that I need the 2007 to work like today because I have to work on my papers for English! PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello hannahmorrison11,
Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:
OGA Data-->
Office Status: 102
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - 100 Genuine
OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002

As you noted, your installation of Office Home and Student 2007 remains in a "Trial" status. That's what the "Office Status: 102" above means.
It is very common for computers from major manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Sony, Toshiba, etc to come with a Trial installation of Microsoft Office 2007, and most of the time the Trial edition is the one you have Office Home and Student 2007.
As you know, the Trial is good for a limited amout of time or uses, and once that limit has been reached, the Office Trial program loses some of its functionality. You can open, view and print existing documents, but you can no longer edit existing documents or draft new ones.
In order to restore full functionality to the Trial, you have to convert it to a perpetually licensed product by purchasing a perpetual license for the product. As you have discovered, the product key on the bottom of your HP laptop is for the installation of Windows on your computer--it is not for Office.
You can purchase a license for Office Home and Student 2007 online directly from Microsoft. You can also purchase a license by going to your favorite local retailer and purchasing the software in a retail package. The product key in the retail package will work to convert your Trial into a perpetually licensed product. Plus, the retail license for Office H&S 2007 allows you to install that license for Office on two more computers in your household, up to a limit of three total.
Another option if you are a qualifying college student is called the Ultimate Steal Deal, which is a special deal from Microsoft that gives you a 91% discount on a different edition of Office, Office Ultimate 2007. Please visit this site for more information: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx
If you decide to go with the the Ultimate Steal deal, you would first uninstall your Trial installation of Office H&S 2007, restart, then install Office Ultimate 2007. Uninstalling the old Office will not uninstall or delete your existing documents.

Hello hannahmorrison11,
In order to receive the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
Please also tell me where you received this Office key
Thank you,

I searched in my hp advisor online about why the product key that worked for my whole computer would not work for microsoft office 7. It came up with this, it was called key finder, I think.
