Setting Product Taxes globally RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a situation where a customer is setting up a product catalog (About 100 products).  When the salesforce sends out quotes it looks like they have to manually enter the tax on every quote.  Is there a setting that sets a percentage for taxes on products?

  • Unfortunately not. The fields are there, but there is no automatic population based on the tax rules for your country.

I think Microsoft assumed that most customers would use an accounting or ERP product for quotes, orders and invoices and that CRM would just store the data generated by the accounting/ERP system. There's no way of easily generating a quote, order or invoice document in CRM and sending it to a customer either.

If you would like to generate quotes with correct taxes directly in Dynamics CRM, then you'll have to do some customisation work. This could be simple if you sell in a single country and all products have the same tax rate, or very complex if you sell into multiple countries and have different tax rates for different products.
