OneCare affecting Word and PowerPoint? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed OneCare a few days ago with printer sharing, and could scarcely use Word (it was so slow) until I discovered that that PS was the problem and disabled it.  Now PowerPoint can't play a movie clip without stuttering and multiple audio drop-outs.  Is this also the fault of OneCare?  Why aren't you telling new customers about these issues before they buy?

  • It is likely that there is conflicting software present such as previously installed antivirus, antispyware or firewall software which did not uninstall completely. I suggest contacting support for help. How to reach support - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90

"Why aren't you telling new customers about these issues before they buy?"

Because what you are experiencing is not expected behavior, nor has it been widely reported. In fact, I don't recall reading of either problem *ever* before in these forums.

    Please do contact OneCare support.
