Our SIP provider is having trouble with not receiving RTP packets during periods of silence. Specifically, they don't send any RTP packets when the call is first answered until OCS sends some RTP. Since the OCS user is waiting to hear the called party answer the phone, he/she doesn't say anything either, no RTP packets are sent, and all we get is dead silence on both ends.
Is there any way to disable the VAD/SS feature on the mediation server between the server and the PSTN? This will ensure a constant stream of packets.
