How to find product key

Question
-
I bought a Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO Home Server. Unfortunately, the installed copy of WHS is in german and none of the add-ons will install on top of it.
I really want to install the english version of WHS but using the product key of my current installation. Afterall I have paid for the license already.
Can anyone recommend a way to extract my product key from the current installation? I tried various tools available but none of them seem to work on WHS.
Thanks

The product key should be on a sticker somewhere on your server (it's a requirement for OEMs to put the key somewhere on the case). Having said that, even if you find the key, I don't think you'll have much luck switching languages. For one, you probably don't have the original MS WHS DVD image (chances are it's a Fujitsu-modified image). Second, you don't have a DVD drive in the server. And third, you don't have any WHS DVD (whether it's MS or Fujitsu) in English. My suggestion would be to return it, then purchase a server with the English version already installed (or, if you have the technical knowledge, build your own server and purchase the WHS OEM license in English and install it yourself).- Proposed as answer by kariya21Moderator Sunday, August 30, 2009 4:44 PM

The product key is indeed on the sticker! Can't believe I didn't start looking there.
But you're saying this is rather useless? I thought of downloading/installing the 120day trial version and then activating it with the key from the system.
If this won't work I might follow your advice and return the whole box.
Thanks

You can't. First, you have no way of installing it on your current hardware (no DVD drive). Second, a full license key won't activate an eval (and vice versa).
