  • Question

  • Hey,
is there a logging enabled for remote connection?
I want to see who tried to connect to my server?

    Thanks.

Yes, this information is available in the Security Log on your WHS. Here's how to get to it:
    • Log in to server via Remote Desktop
    • Start/Control Panel
    • Switch to Classic view if not already there
    • Administrative Tools/Even Viewer
    • There is an item under Event Viewer (local) in the left pane labelled Security. Click it.
You'll see a series of events, mostly logon/logoff events.

I see a couple of suggestions in Connect: here, here, and here. You should feel free to vote on how important you think they are. If you don't think they capture your suggestion, you might want to submit one on Connect yourself.

  • Do you mean remote connection through the web interface (http://server) or through Remote Desktop from a machine on your LAN?

  • Hey and thanks for your answear.
Yey, I mean remote connection through the web interface (http://server).
I m looking for information like who was when, how long online and what files did he/she downloaded.
    Thanks

  • I don't think that anything that specific is available for you to use. There's probably some logging settings that can be made in IIS if you want to get your hands dirty, but I wouldn't recommend it with this Beta build. Sounds like a good candidate for feedback though, sign in to Connect and post your suggestion:
