internet connection help!

Question
-
Hi I just switched to a new internet provider and got a new router and had to by a new lynksys wireless router. I have a older computer about 10 year old running xp home addition. with the new router i can no longer access the internet because the new modem has wpa 2 internet encryption. The question is is there any way to change my computers settings to the wpa 2 format. I have automatic updates running and it has installed the latest service pk3 and I still can not get on the internet. I can however us my cell phone as a modem and can get on the internet that way. The computer is able to see the home network that i have set up in the house, but when it tries to connect it says authentication(sp??) could not be accessed i think.
I have gone to microsofts web and searched there downloads and fix section to no avail!! if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!!

forget about the modem it does not matter
open a brwoser then type in this addy
192.168.1.1
hit enter it will ask for the username and password
admin is user
admin is deault password
once inthe routeer click on administrationand the first 2 lines are for the password you want
if you run a wireless netwrk and dont want anyone stealing your bandwidth jsut make sure these are changed or anyone can use the above itmes to enter your router and lock you out
next step click in setup and change the name of the routher to anything you want
next click on wireeless and make sure ses is inactive
then click save settings athte bottom ofthe window
after all this close that window and then go to start/run and type in cmd
hit enter then in box that appears type in this
ipconfig/release
wait it will show you 2 lines with 0202020
then typ e in this
ipconfig/renew
it will atke about a minute but it should give you the current ip addy an d the server name
close this windows so that you are done and reboot to make windows see the changes
